Well, I am currently in week 5 of my 15 week training program for the Carlsbad Half Marathon in January. I had a GREAT tempo run yesterday that really gave me my hope back! I had a rough week last week and I was starting to doubt myself. But thankfully yesterdays run went well :)
This week:

So, tomorrow I have my "long" run for the week. And I am debating running it at a steady pace or a slow pace. Any thoughts? The only reason that I ask, is I am kind of using 2 different training schedules and 1 says to do the long run at an 11:00 pace (smartcoach) and another calls for a steady pace. According to the McMillan calculator, my steady pace is 9:33-9:50. Hmm, decisions, designs! Plus, I have to do this "long" run on the treadmill tomorrow, so I already know that the run is going to be tough...I hate doing anything over 5 miles on a treadmill...but I have no other option :(
Hello! I enjoyed reading your "about me" page and getting to know you! How cool that you are getting back to running...and while a mom to two - that's awesome! I look forward to reading about your journey! I love other mommy runners!
ReplyDeleteThat's great that you had a good run! I hope your long run went well today.
Thanks Heather! Looking forward to motivating each other here! My long run went way better than expected yesterday! I ended up running it at an average of 9:55...which was sustainable! Thanks for your comment!
