I have been keeping up with everyone...but I have had a lack in motivation to post on my own :( We had an awesome & busy Christmas! Spent time with both sides of the family and even took a short trip to the local mountains with my husbands side of the family.
4 generations: My Nana, Me, my Mom, and Kaitlyn
Despite the craziness that the holiday break can bring...I got in all my scheduled runs for this training cycle & can't wait until the 23rd!
I did my FINAL speed work session yesterday:
6 miles:
1 mile warm up
1 mile @ 8:57 pace, 800 recovery
1 mile @ 8:49 pace, 800 recovery
1 mile @ 8:57 pace, 800 recovery
1/2 mile @ race pace (9:23)
DONE!!!!!! :)
I decided to take today off instead of my usually kick box class @ the Y...have a slight cold and want to be 100% rested for my 12 miler tomorrow or Thursday. Then Friday I will do a kick box class.
Here is what my schedule looks like until race day:
1/10 to 1/16: 4-5 mile race pace run, kick boxing, 6-9 miles @ race pace, easy 2 miler, kick boxing
1/17 to 1/23: easy 2, kick boxing, 5 mile tempo run, RACE
I can't believe that training is almost done! Then I start training early February for my 1st FULL Marathon!!!
I will be registering 1/13 for the San Diego Rock n' Roll Marathon on June 5th, 2011!

i am impressed with the consistent workouts thru the holidays! i always miss a few, inevitably.
ReplyDeleteI get to see you on DM, so I don't miss out on your workouts, but here I see it in advance. Rock on girl!
ReplyDeleteI just love looking at pictures, especially family pictures and how great is it to see you, your mom, nana (I used to call my g'mas nana too) and daughter. I still have hopes of having a family of my own and I wish the situation were different for me in the parental area. My dad passed 15 yrs ago and though I haven't lost my mom physically, mentally with Alzheimers, it's a loss and sad to see her not remember people or places from her past.
But on the positive, as for Shakeology, I'll tell you more about it, if you's like, but I'd rather do it in an email. If you don't mind, send me your email addie and I'll give you the 411. For anyone reading this, it's a good product, I don't want to write a page long comment. My email is mizzriv@aol.com.
That is amazing that you were able to still do your trainings!! Way to go :)
ReplyDeleteGreat workouts. It's tough staying motivated this time of year but you're almost there!
ReplyDeleteWhen you sign up for your first marathon, that's motivation enough. It's so exciting!
Good luck in the up coming race but before that, have a great 12 miler this weekend.
