Wahoo...socks!

I FINALLY got the CEP Compression Socks that I won in Kim's giveaway!
They were out of stock for some time, and I am so happy to have got them today!

I'm so excited that I am even wearing them now ;) I only did kick boxing and ran a mile today, but gosh darn it, I am wearing my new socks! I have my long run planned for tomorrow, so I will definitely be wearing them tomorrow night!
I also can not wait to get our tax refund...I am in dire need of new running shoes like yesterday! I have over 500 miles on mine. OOPS! AND...with that money I will also be officially registering for my 1st Marathon!
Even though I have not officially taken the plunge and registered, I am still working on my training plan for it (actually in week 2) and I've gotta say, I am wondering if I am going crazy. Why is it so hard to make a training plan? Geez! Anyone out there just do a marathon or have done a few in the past and wouldn't mind sharing the training plan they came up with? I admit, I am really picky with my scheduling. I only want to run 3 or 4 days a week because I also kick box twice a week and have kind of started doing a few P90X videos with the hubby a week. I have thought of mixing up the FIRST plan with the Hal Higdon plan. Anyone try that before?

  3. Hi! i just found you through my pal Reasons2Run. I trained for my first marathon with Hal Higdon's beginner plan. I think he's got solid stuff, but my consistency was lacking, so my uncomfortable first marathon was my own fault, not his. Cross training twice a week and running 3-4 days is great! I also default to Hal when I don't know what to do - like with my recent crazy scheme to run marathons 3 and 6 weeks apart, he is the only one I found with a reliable plan to get me through those short between weeks in a healthy yet still running way. Does that make sense? That was pretty poor sentence structure...

  4. SD Rock and Roll was my first marathon!! You must do it, it's so fun! Google the "Less is More" training plan. I have the book! I ran my first four marathons by just running three times a week, crazy! Our kiddos were little then and it just worked for me. If you want any more info on the Less is More plan or the marathon, email me: lingfam@cox.net !

  5. Are you crazy? I just looked at your race photos and they were excellent! Your ponytail looks long and beautiful and you just look great! There was no saggy quad or hideous facial expressions.

  6. Do you like your compression socks?? I have been debatin gon whether or not to get some... I'm so cheap that I figure I don't need them, but I'd be interested to know if they really work.
Also, I have used Hal the FIRST program and many in between. Just remember that you can mix it to fit your needs and schedule! Can't wait to hear how your training and 1st marathon goes!
